The Last Class
Special Screening
Thursday, September 17th 3:15pm - 5:15pm
Robert Reich’s "The Last Class" is a documentary film directed by Elliot Kirschner that chronicles the final semester of former U.S. Secretary of Labor and political economist Robert Reich teaching his famous "Wealth and Poverty" course at UC Berkeley. The film serves as both a reflection on his 42-year academic career—having taught over 40,000 students—and a deep dive into the dual realities of his own aging and the future his students will inherit. During his final lecture, 1,000 students filled the largest lecture hall on the UC Berkeley campus.
